Elias on Artistic Creativity

"At times individuals may move in the direction of allowing themselves to express certain types of artistic creativity and initially are expressing considerable enthusiasm concerning the project, and inspire themselves, and allow themselves initially to be experimenting and playful. But subsequently they begin to compare and doubt their own ability, and once the doubt begins, that creates a different type of energy in which the individual is not allowing a free flow of their own creativity. They begin to analyze what they are doing and attempting to generate more of a structure in how they are expressing their particular creativity, and that interrupts the playfulness with it, and it no longer is an inspiring, fun action, but becomes a chore that you struggle with rather than allowing yourself to merely express in whatever manner you choose."

- Elias (channeled through Mary Ennis) from Session 1888

Seth on Aggression

"Sometimes you think of suicide as ignominious and passive, but of war as aggressive and powerful. Both are equally the result of passivity and distorted aggression, and of natural pathways of communication not used or understood. You think of flowers in terms of gentleness, beauty and "goodness," and yet every time a new bud opens there is a great thrust of joyful aggression that is hardly passive, and a daring and courage that reaches actively outward. Without aggression your body would be denied its growth, the cells within it caught in inertia. Aggressiveness is at the base of the magnificent bursting of creativity."

Elias on Flexibility

"In actuality, my friend, even within what you would term to be the most structured establishments, any individual may engage their creativity and generate a type of position that may not even exist. It is a matter of your choices and recognizing that you do incorporate choices, that you are not a victim to the choices or dictates of other individuals. There is much more flexibility within your reality than you recognize. As you hold to the rigidness that is familiar, you also limit yourself. Therefore, allow yourself to view the flexibility through the expression of your creativity, and most significantly, practice the expression of trust of yourself, for this shall be the most affecting factor."

- Elias(channeled through Mary Ennis) from Session #1159

Seth on "Assembly-Line" Time

"The assembly-line time and the beliefs that go along with it have given you many benefits as a society, but it should not be forgotten that the entire framework was inititally set up to cut down on impulses, creative thought, or any other activities that would lead to anything but the mindless repetition of one act after another. (intently)"

"In other words, that entire framework is meant to give you a standardized, mass-produced version of reality. None of its concepts can (knocking the table) rationally be applied to creative endeavors. The orientation that gives you the creative achievement lies in the opposite direction."

"Creativity itself has its own built-in discipline, the kind that, for example, in a dream can rummage through the days of the future to find precisely the data required to make a specific point."
